All classes are held at the Sheep River Library. Level 3 classes go till 7:30pm

Join our vibrant STEAM After School Clubs, offered by Next Gen Edu Care in collaboration with the Diamond Valley Youth Foundation and the Sheep River Library. Explore the exciting worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through dynamic and interactive sessions. Ignite your curiosity, unleash your creativity, and embark on an inspiring journey of discovery with us!

Level 1: “Robotics Olympics: Code, Build, Compete”

  • Description: Welcome to the ultimate tech-powered challenge arena! In this high-energy club, young innovators will dive into the world of robotics using Ozobots, Spheros, and LEGO Spike kits. Each week, students will design, build, and code their way through sports-themed engineering missions—from robotic soccer to obstacle course relays.
  • Why Parents Love It: This club blends physical movement with STEM learning, helping kids channel their energy into teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. It’s the perfect launchpad for early tech confidence and collaborative thinking.
  • Club Goals: Build foundational coding skills, strengthen spatial reasoning, and foster resilience through playful competition.
  • Technology used: Ozobots, Sphero robots, LEGO Spike kits, block-based coding apps.

Level 2: “Code & Create: 3D Games & Animations”

  • Description: Where imagination meets innovation! In this design-forward club, students explore the exciting intersection of coding and 3D modeling. Using Scratch and TinkerCAD, they’ll create interactive games, animated stories, and digital art that bring their ideas to life.
  • Why Parents Love It: This club nurtures both sides of the brain—combining logic and creativity in a way that boosts confidence, digital fluency, and future-ready design skills. It’s ideal for kids who love to build, tinker, and tell stories.
  • Club Goals: Strengthen intermediate coding logic, introduce 3D design principles, and encourage creative expression through technology.
  • Technology used: Scratch, TinkerCAD, tablets or Chromebooks.

Level 3: “Pro Gamers’ Team Challenge: Strategy, Leadership & Esports”

  • Description: This isn’t just gaming—it’s a high-energy, team-based challenge where strategy, communication, and leadership take center stage. In this competitive club, students collaborate in popular multiplayer games like Minecraft, Roblox, and Fortnite, rotating through structured challenges that emphasize teamwork, adaptability, and digital citizenship.
  • Why Parents Love It: This club transforms screen time into skill time. Participants build real-world competencies—like collaboration under pressure, strategic thinking, and respectful communication—while doing what they love. It’s the perfect blend of fun and future-ready learning.
  • Club Goals: Strengthen leadership, critical thinking, and social-emotional intelligence through structured, cooperative gameplay.
  • Technology used: Minecraft Education Edition, Roblox Studio, Fortnite Creative Mode, and other age-appropriate, team-based games selected based on student interest.

Club Cost

The cost per participant for 10 weeks is $300 $150.

The Diamond Valley Youth Foundation is pleased to cover 50% of these fees for EVERY STUDENT!! This subsidy wouldn’t be possible without the support of our partners and sponsors – THANK YOU!

Payment of $150 is due with registration.

STEPS TO REGISTER:

  1. Complete the Online Registration form from your computer or phone

    • Complete one form per participant.
    • You can submit the form directly after completing all sections. Or you can print it and send it to us via email to STEAM@dvyf.ca
  2. E-transfer $150 per participant to STEAM@dvyf.ca
  3. Complete the Terms, Conditions and Consent Form (coming soon!)
  4. Registration confirmation will be sent within 48 hours. The registration of the participant is only completed once payment and completed registration form are received!
