Entry Level: Elon Musk School of Robots and Coding

Starting Wednesday January 15, 2024 / 5:00pm – 6:00pm / 10 classes / No class Feb 19 / Cost: $300 $150

  • Description: IT professions are very hot nowadays and it seems they will not disappear from our lives. Why not get your child(ren) used to IT concepts such as coding and robotics? Scratch Jr and Scratch are great tools to introduce coding to children. It uses coding blocks like puzzle pieces, is color coded and is very intuitive to use. When it comes to Robotics, Ozobots and Spheros are unbeatable. Simple spheroid robots that can be coded and used for many science and engineering experiments.
  • Club’s goals: To develop at least 1 Scratch Jr project using different types of blocks, such as Loops, Messages, Starters and Stoppers.
  • Recommended to: Children with close to zero computer skills.
  • Technology used: Scratch Jr and Ozobots and Spheros.

Mid Level: School of Coding – Game making with Scratch and Minecraft Educational

Starting Wednesday January 15, 2024 / 6:15pm – 7:15pm / 10 classes / No class Feb 19 / Cost: $300 $150

  • Description: Get ready for a club full of friendly competition and collaboration! Children will create teams and contend on several challenges using creativity, design, and coding using Scratch and Minecraft to create games! Children will learn the basics of coding and game making and then apply it to Scratch and Minecraft.
  • Club’s goals: To provide daily challenges for students while explaining concepts of design thinking, coding, and research! Challenge complexity will vary depending on children Scratch and Minecraft skills.
  • Recommended to: Children familiarity of basic computer skills (connecting to the internet, opening files, logging in, using keyboard and mouse fairly proficiently) as well as basic familiarity with Scratch and Minecraft.
  • Technology used: Scratch and Minecraft Educational.
