Real Experiments, real engineering, real discoveries – one Saturday a month, all school year long!

At FutureMinds, kids don’t sit and listen — they investigate, build, experiment, test, create, and explore. Our instructors build an environment where mistakes become discoveries and every question leads somewhere interesting. Every child leaves with a project of their own.

Science of Motion
Kick off the FutureMinds Science Club by exploring the exciting world of motion, forces, and engineering! Young scientists will build bottle rockets and tackle hands-on engineering challenges to discover how things move through fun, creative experiments.

Eco-Engineers
Discover how beavers are nature’s engineers and the incredible role they play in creating healthy ecosystems. Through hands-on activities, participants will explore how beaver dams work, why wetlands are important, and how these amazing animals help wildlife and people alike.

Micro World Explorers
Discover how scientists use light, lenses, and imaging technology to reveal details invisible to the naked eye. Through hands-on optical experiments, engineering challenges, and scientific investigations, participants will explore the fascinating science behind microscopes, cameras, and medical imaging while developing their observation and critical thinking skills.

Human Anatomy
The human body is a fantastic machine! Learn more about the machine’s miraculous scaffolding (the bones and the joints), the power source (the muscles and tendons), the fuels (digestion of food and heart/lung/blood delivery system for oxygen), the sensors (ears, eyes, smell, taste), and the machine’s computerized control center (the brain and spinal cord).

Code & Create
With Code and Create, participants will join the fantastic world of planning, sequencing and executing. Coding is about blocks and syntaxes, but it is also set up and designing what you want to do. The combination of these elements teaches participants how the basis of any coding job work: we first plan carefully and then execute for a specific purpose.

Science of Sound
Bring your best listening ears because we’re going to explore the science of sound. From sonic booms to musical instruments, from taking human body pictures using sound waves to the subtleties of human speech, together let’s learn about sound, both the science and the wonder.

Space Explorers
The space explorer’s session will allow individuals to use their creative, problem solving and teamwork skills to create a unique space-themed project.

Chemistry Craze
Gen & Tay will take you on a chemistry adventure for the day! We will create products from household items & explore chemical reactions!

Inventor’s Challenge
This session invites young inventors to explore renewable energy and engineering by building their own miniature imitation of solar-powered cars, made from recycled materials.

E-transfer $5 per session (or $40 for the full year) to STEAM@dvyf.ca
Registration is confirmed once payment and the form are both received.
